Rental Terms and Conditions

Priority in the use of Faith Baptist Church facilities is given first to the ministry efforts of the church itself, then to events or activities by other groups/organizations/individuals that are consistent with the mission and objectives of Faith Baptist Church (see below). Where possible, use of the Faith Baptist facility can also be provided to community groups, other organizations, or individuals for purposes that do not conflict with the mission and objectives of Faith Baptist, such as meetings, concerts, recitals, social events, family celebrations, sports or fitness activities, and similar. All those using the facility must agree to the following: 

a)   Faith Baptist reserves the right to reschedule your date in the event of a special need (such as a funeral).

b)  A rental fee will be determined upon review of this application and your intended use and requirements are taken into consideration.

c)   Outside groups/organizations may be asked to provide proof of liability insurance.

d)  Only the agreed-upon activity in the agreed-upon spaces as noted on the application is permitted once your application is approved. Use of other spaces or conducting other activities is not permitted.

e)  We may require you to use one of our technicians for use of certain equipment for an additional fee.

f)    No sale or consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted. No smoking/use of tobacco or cannabis products or use of illicit drugs on the premises is permitted.

g)    No lottery, games of chance, or gambling of any description is permitted.

h)  Food and drink is not permitted in the church sanctuary/auditorium without special permission.

i)    Any activity that becomes hazardous to, or infringes upon the right of, the neighbouring property owners must cease immediately upon notice.

j)    In the event of winter weather conditions the parking lot may be unsafe or unusable and your event can be re-scheduled.

k)   Furniture and items present in the Sanctuary must be respected and should not be moved without permission.

l)    Only service animals are permitted in the facility, no pets or other animals.

m)  The sale of any product, event tickets, or any other activity of a commercial nature must be disclosed as part of the “type of event/activity” in the rental application.

n)  Garbage, compost, or recycling generated in the course of this event/activity must be removed by building users unless other arrangements have been agreed upon.

o)  Facilities users must abide by any measures in Provincial public health orders and any specific health and safety requirements put in place by Faith Baptist Church.

p)  Weddings at Faith Baptist Church may only be held if they are officiated by a member of the church’s pastoral staff (at their discretion), by a Christian minister credentialed by the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada, or by some other individual specifically approved by the Board of Deacons of Faith Baptist Church.


Mission and Objectives of Faith Baptist Church of Lower Sackville

1.     The Mission of Faith Baptist Church is to be a community of believers in Christ who seek to glorify God through prayer and worship, care and study, mission and discipleship through the power of the Holy Spirit.

2.     Operating on a volunteer and non-profit basis, and consistent with its Mission, the Objectives of Faith Baptist Church are:

a.     To advance religion by establishing and maintaining a house of public worship and the preaching of the gospel in accordance with the tenets, doctrines and observances of the Baptist Denomination of the Protestant Christian faith;

b.     To advance religion by the study of the Bible in accordance with the tenets, doctrines and observances of the Baptist Denomination of the Protestant Christian faith;

c.     To advance religion through Christian Education in accordance with the tenets, doctrines and observances of the Baptist Denomination of the Protestant Christian faith;

d.     To advance religion through evangelism to promote Christ’s kingdom in accordance with the tenets, doctrines and observances of the Baptist Denomination of the Protestant Christian faith;

e.     To advance religion through the support of the missionary enterprises of the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada and of Canadian Baptist Ministries, or other missions organizations;

f.      To advance religion through the support of the ministries of the Halifax Region United Baptist Association, including a Chaplaincy for the Halifax Hospitals, a Christian Camp and Conference Centre, and the support of local churches of the Association which are not yet self-supporting;

g.     To advance religion through the support of Christian Universities and Theological Colleges and organizations which promote Christian cooperation and unity;

h.     To advance religion and to promote health and well-being through ministering to the poor, widows, orphans, those otherwise in need or distress and others whom God makes the church’s concern;

i.      To relieve poverty through the support of local charitable organizations assisting the poor;

j.      To acquire by way of grant, gift, purchase, bequest, devise or otherwise, real and personal property and to use and apply such property to the realization of the Mission and Objectives of Faith Baptist Church; and

k.     To buy, own, hold lease, rent, mortgage, sell and convey such real and personal property as may be necessary or desirable in carrying out the Mission and Objectives of Faith Baptist Church.

l.      Provided that

i.     Faith Baptist Church shall not carry on any trade, industry or business;

ii. All funds shall be used solely for the purposes Faith Baptist Church and the promotion of its Mission and Objectives;
